For our "IT Operations" division we are looking for a

Computer Scientist (m/f/d) as IT Security Specialist (m/f/d)

The position can be based at our office in Darmstadt, Giessen or Kassel. Another ekom21 location from spring 2024 also in Fulda! From spring 2024, you will have the opportunity to work at our newly established location in Fulda. Training will take place at one of our locations in Darmstadt, Gießen or Kassel. Travel time in this regard will be charged as working time. This position is a full-time position, which is generally divisible.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Your tasks include the administration of the IT security infrastructure: SIEM log analysis and monitoring, APT scanner, threat intelligence platform, certificate management
• You create Windows/Linux compliance guidelines (implementation and monitoring)
• Documents to improve IT security fall within your area of responsibility
• You accompany penetration tests
• Your tasks include basic support for the mail, proxy and DNS infrastructure
• You are the quality management coordinator in the department
• You work in the CERT team

The level of pay is based on a salary up to EG 12 TVöD (VKA) and will be subject to a final individual assessment and personal qualifications.

What you bring with you

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or completed vocational training with relevant professional experience
• Very good knowledge of Linux and Windows system environments
• Very good knowledge of network technologies
• Very good understanding of log and network analysis
• Basic programming knowledge
• German and English spoken and written
• Certification: CompTIA Security+ or willingness to acquire this in the first year of employment
• Strong communication skills, pronounced customer orientation, team-oriented work
• Willingness to travel (throughout Hesse) and willingness to work flexibly and be on call
